I purchased Simple Amharic for Adoptive Families from this site:

They tell you how to pronounce each word or phrase and although I find it challenging (so foreign to an english speaking ear) I am learning slowly by focusing in on a few words at a time. We put the words we are trying to learn on the chalk board and test our memories over a week or two until we've got it!
